I’d like to know which one YOU like better. This second attempt at a bird’s nest or the one I posted the other day and labeled “overworked.” When I was done the second painting, I pulled out the original one and guess what? I thought it was better! I ended up adding more to the background of the new one. I’m curious what you think? Please let me know. 🙂
Here are my steps for the second nest:
This one is better than the first painting.
thank you for your feedback!
You’re welcome! 🙂
Love the colors, and I’m a fan of this new one 🙂
Thanks! I didn’t think a nest would be so hard!
I like them both! Subtle differences are interesting. I sort of like the nest better in the first and the background better in the second.
Thank you 🙂
I like the second nest.
I like the first one better. I don’t think it looks overworked, but since I’m also learning watercolor, I totally understand the thought/fear! I haven’t tried a nest yet, although I love birds and nests, so I have no experience. But in thinking of videos and books I’ve read, I’m thinking one way to go about it might be to use staining darks and as they reach the drying stage where you could lift some color, you could use a damp brush or Q-tip to create the twigs and bits. perhaps I’ve given myself another idea for a project!!
first one I think. i like the looseness of the second. did you happen to see my post on my goddess? i went through the same thing: http://lunarmoondae.com/2014/05/23/process-moon-and-gaia/
I checked out your goddesses. I keep changing my mind on which one I like better! You’re probably right – no redos! I’ll try to stick to that! lol!
I like the additional color to the eggs in the larger picture. It adds depth and the color is lovely.
Thank you so much!
Nice job on the eggs!
Thank you! 🙂
