I was feeling guilty that I never finished a Christmas diorama, as I promised you. Posting one today or tomorrow seemed too late. But, as I cleaned up all the scraps of wrapping paper, boxes, and ribbons, I realized today is the perfect day to finish a Christmas diorama and use some of those leftovers. The rush of shopping, baking, and wrapping is over. Today is a lazy day – the perfect day to work on a project and those leftovers had inspired me. In my last diorama post, I went over all the problems I was having with my diorama. The main thing I realized was that I was thinking too literally. This time I didn’t fuss about a realistic floor – I just created and I’m so happy with the results! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas!
I love the day after Christmas. I feel so much relief, like getting over a really bad headache.
Me too! I feel like I can get organized – I’ve been stuffing boxes and shopping bags in closets for weeks. I couldn’t even remember what I bought or where things were. My son felt the opposite. He was in tears that it was over!
My husband is from the Netherlands. He thinks we Americans are nuts. Their Christmas is really low keyed, only kids get small gifts. Most of their time and money are spent on parties and festivals…There is no stress when I visit during the Holidays over there.
It is crazy! Now that it is over I wish I had had more downtime to just be creative. Everything was such a rush. Next year I’ll start in September! Ha ha
Looks lovely, Eileen! Well done.
Yep as people unwrapped gifts all I could think about was wow I could use that in a collage!!
I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me before! Maybe because I was wrapping at 2 am!
